Species Impacts

More atmospheric carbon dioxide and warmer global temperatures are creating beneficial conditions for plant and animal life. Scientists have documented a greening of the Earth in recent decades, with greater extent and density of vegetation. Many animal species are extending their ranges as warming temperatures open new lands for them. Few animal species have gone extinct in recent centuries, with factors other than climate primarily responsible.
